Ottawa Art Gallery Rebrand
Growing five times its previous size, the Ottawa Art Gallery (OAG) is a dedicated gallery for the Firestone Collection of Canadian Art, which includes works by the Group of Seven and a permanent collection with over 1,000 works including paintings, sculpture, graphic arts, photographs and new media.
Domino worked with the OAG to design and manage several projects for the launch of its elaborate new downtown facility. A new visual brand identity was designed and presented successfully to OAG’s board of directors. Domino was also responsible for creating visual graphic guidelines and designing a wayfinding system, signage, corporate and promotional print collateral.
The official opening was a resounding success. Over 200,000 patrons visited the OAG in the first six months after its official opening.
Domino suggested the name Jackson for OAG’s new cafe. A prominent member of the Group of Seven, A.Y. Jackson lived and painted in Manotick, a community south of Ottawa.
